As a company placing chemicals on the EU market, you MUST comply with Regulation No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH). The REACH Regulation which came into force on 1 June 2007 was adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals.

REACH has considerable repercussions for EU manufacturers, EU downstream users and Non-EU exporters of chemical substances alone, in mixtures and articles. According to EU REACH Regulation, substances alone or in mixtures ≥ 1 tonne per year must be registered if they are manufactured in or exported into the EU market. Non-EU substance manufacturers who export to the EU must legally appoint an Only Representative to handle their REACH related obligations for compliance and to continue their exports and maintain their business information confidential. Additionally, the registration of a chemical substance under REACH is a complex process, requiring significant effort from manufacturers, importers and from specialized consulting having the necessary knowledge and experience in chemicals regulations.

RGS provides wide range of REACH-related services, including but not limited to; Only Representation, inquiry & registration, assessment & certification, general consultancy on defining REACH obligations & exemptions, training, etc.
